Battle Royale Collusion and Moving Forward

The first long awaited Battle Royale for Advanced Warfare is right around the corner. The match ups have been posted and from what I can see this will be a difficult hard-fought battle for all clans regardless of what size bracket you are competing in. Recently I was sent some information and pictures which hinted at a couple of the clans we are playing against possibly colluding against us. I won’t post their clan names because I don’t know for a fact that this information is true and I know what it feels like to be accused of something you didn’t do. Our clan has been the subject of scrutiny and cheating accusations due to the actions of one of our members. While I hope that we can have a fun and fair Battle Royale, that might not end up happening. We will play our best and hope for the best, but even at that the fact of the matter is that winning a Battle Royale involves some luck in that you have to hope the other clans target nodes which are beneficial rather than detrimental to your win. Regardless, I wish the best of luck to all participants in all of the Battle Royales and I hope that some amazing battles come out of this that will be remembered for years to come.

So what happens after the Battle Royale?
I think most clans participating in the Battle Royale will agree that clan wars have never been a very good determination of skill or clan strength. To a certain extent, they show your clans organization, leadership and ability to pubstomp but it doesn’t do a very good job of encouraging competition or encouraging clans to match up against each other. Recently, clans like Axon Gaming & Lethal Gaming have tried to encourage these competitive aspects by streaming matches of squads from different clans playing against each other. Also, Beachhead Studio has announced that they will be resetting the Diamond Division leaderboard and making a lot of changes to clan wars and even that their vision was influenced by constructive community feedback.

We also have plans of creating a competitive clan vs clan competition sometime in the future, and while I don’t have any details about that at this time, the fact is that I notice a lot of things changing within the clan wars community which are encouraging competition and I think these changes are a definite step in the right direction. Moving forward, the clan will always try to find somewhere that we can compete and have fun. Whether that is in the new clan wars system or clan battles or resurrecting lone wolf operations or even just challenging clans directly, we look at any opportunity to compete with other clans within this community as a good thing and I’m excited to see what the future brings.

Here’s to hoping that Beachhead Studio & Treyarch brings all of this full circle and Black Ops III becomes the best Call of Duty for clan wars community players ever.
